Introduction

You won´t need to know how to pose or dress, that is what I’m here for! Feel free to try out some poses or even some props you´d like to incorporate. I start off with some simple poses to get the client used to being in front of the camera. My posing is a combination of traditional poses and just some sweet moments in between, I catch it all. I come prepared with prompts to do to create genuine photos no worries! This is all about YOU! Dress however you want, bring what you want, to get the shoot that YOU want!

Before your Shoot

Not sure what to wear? Which locations? How to pose? What to bring and everything in between? Check out my other guide titled "Guide to the Perfect Shoot"!

During the Session

Here´s a general rundown of how most of my shoots go down! When arriving I know my client is most than likely going to be super nervous which is perfectly normal. I start off with some simple and non demanding poses that help the model to adjust to being in front of the camera, being around a new person, and more than likely being in a public place. When posing clients I tend to give them a visual and doing the pose myself to best give a representation of what I´m going for vs. just throwing out directive words. One other thing I do with my clients is I give them several different posing options for instance ¨You could totally do something like this or this, anything along those lines are great as long as your comfortable¨. I know that by giving my client the option to choose what they feel most genuine and comfortable doing will make for the best generic photos.

Heading towards the end of the session by then the client(s) and I are more than comfortable, cracking jokes here and there. Posing and pictures towards the very end are usually the best! However before my process ends I usually ask my clients two questions at the end of the session.

-¨Are you comfortable with me posting these photos to social media?¨
-¨I Photoshop blemishes and temporary flaws out however I leave in beauty marks, moles, freckles, ext... is that alright?¨

And last but not least I always give a turnaround time based on that specific shoot before leaving.

After the Session

Depending on the duration of the shoot, amount of photos needed, and how many session I have that week there is not too clear of a guideline, however I usually mention the turnaround time at the end of the session itself. There is almost always a turnaround time set at the end of every single session I´ve done. I always make sure to give progress updates on how the photos are coming along and I usually send sneak peaks! Last but not least when the photos are done and ready to be exported I upload them to a gallery on my website and send the link to my client along with a personalized download pin.
